The European project MIND INCLUSION 3.0, starts piloting the two learning platforms with the implementation of Local Learning Centers (LLC) testing the Online Learning Center (OLC) and the Massive open online Course (MOOC).
Intellectual disability presents specific challenges that require comprehensive interventions, not only for the affected person, but also for those around them, such as carers, family members, professionals and employers. European projects, such as those funded by the Erasmus Plus programme, focus on empowering these key actors, ensuring that inclusion is effective and long-lasting. By creating training tools, digital platforms and awareness strategies, these projects promote an inclusive approach involving all sectors of society.
In this way, the European project Mind Inclusion 3.0 that we embarked on two years ago, focused on the development of digital and training tools aimed at integrating 3 key actors in addition to the main beneficiaries of the project such as people with intellectual problems. disabilities (PDI): social-health professionals, business users and carers/family members of people with intellectual disabilities. Thus, the MI3.0 project advocated for a real and effective inclusion that can only be achieved with the involvement of everyone by identifying the training needs of both professionals who may be in contact with people with intellectual disabilities and business people, a group largely uninformed about the social and cognitive needs of the group to promote PDI inclusion in public spaces such as bars, restaurants, sports centers and libraries. Thus, to analyze the training needs of each group, which were identified through a participatory methodology, two activities were carried out:
- Co-creation sessions: meetings were held with health and social care professionals and business users to identify their training needs. This allowed the development of training tools and courses specifically adapted to their contexts and challenges.
- Co-validation sessions: following the co-creation sessions, these meetings with educators and entrepreneurs focused on refining and validating the proposed training solutions, ensuring that they meet the identified needs, strengthening the commitment of project partners with effective solutions.
From there, two key training tools were developed:
- Online Learning Center (OLC): addressed to social professionals such as social workers and support persons, who will receive specialized training to become trainers of other professionals on issues of social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.
- Massive Open Online Course (MOOC): Created to train entrepreneurs in accessibility and inclusion in public spaces, helping them become leaders and promoters of more inclusive spaces for people with disabilities.
The project partners (Polibienestar, Cooperativa Margherita, Fundația Intras, Confartigianato Vicenza, Social IT, Pro ACT Suport) worked on the development of training content and the design of accessible and interactive platforms. These digital tools aim to ensure that both social professionals and entrepreneurs receive adequate training, thus enabling real and sustainable inclusion.
Later, an intensive four-day trainer training program took place in Romania. This international training aimed to train professionals and social experts to become future mentors for other professionals and social entrepreneurs during the implementation of the pilot actions. Project activities will now aim to ensure that the tools created are used effectively, allowing a detailed assessment of their impact and results on different target groups. In addition, they aim to establish a sustainability strategy to ensure the continued use and improvement of these tools in the long term.
The Mind Inclusion 3.0 project aims to strengthen a comprehensive and sustainable inclusion model that, through digital tools and international cooperation, has the potential to transform the way people with intellectual disabilities are integrated into society, ensuring that both professionals and employers. they become key actors responsible for achieving real and effective inclusion of the group.
